I'm passionately curious. Let's figure this out together!

About

Hi, I'm Tami | Starry-Eyed Pragmatist

Hi, I’m Tami.

Tami in front of her front door in Savannah, GA

I’m an educator, community builder, and steward. Those words may sound like resume bullet points, but they’re really just three angles on one conviction: community is not a destination you arrive at someday. It’s a practice you do right now, with exactly what you have.

Most of what I do, across all its different expressions, is try to create the conditions for that to happen.

I’ve been homeschooling our six kids since 2010. We raised them across four countries (the UAE, Alaska, Saudi Arabia, and Japan) before putting down roots in Savannah, Georgia in 2020. That decade of building belonging from scratch in unfamiliar places shaped how I think about home, community, and what it actually takes to show up for people.

These days I facilitate a consent-based, agile learning community for homeschooling families in Savannah. I co-founded Fertility Knowledge Collective (https://fertilityknowledgecollective.com), a continuing education and certification program for fertility awareness educators. I teach Bible classes and work with youth at my church. I study ancient Greek. I manage a handful of rental properties and am usually reading three or four books at once.

This site is an archive of my writing and a home base for the work I care about most.
